Sustainability
Responsible Investment
ESG is built Into every decision – our stake in the region runs beyond returns
We invest in the infrastructure that communities and economies depend on — which means the way we invest carries a responsibility we take seriously.
Responsible investment is not a separate exercise at Rakiza; it is part of how we execute deals. Every investment passes through rigorous ESG screening before we commit, and every asset in our portfolio has cleared that process and complies with our Responsible Investment Policy.
Stewardship That Lasts the Life of the Asset
Our responsibility does not end at acquisition. Throughout the holding period, we actively monitor ESG performance across our portfolio companies, holding them to high standards and working with management to strengthen their sustainability profile over time. We believe that managing ESG factors well protects communities and the environment and strengthens financial performance.
A Contribution to the Region We Serve
By embedding ESG across the investment lifecycle, we aim to create lasting value — for our investors, for the communities our assets serve, and for the broader sustainability goals the region is working toward. It is how we ensure the infrastructure we back leaves a positive, long-term mark.
Reducing Impact. Managing Footprints.
Infrastructure assets have a long lifespan and are closely linked to the environment. Rakiza takes this seriously. We assess the environmental impact of every potential investment as part of our pre-acquisition ESG screening, and we work with our portfolio companies to monitor and reduce environmental risk throughout the holding period.
Our environmental focus areas include energy efficiency and emissions reduction, responsible water management, climate resilience, and responsible land use and ecological impact assessment.
We align our environmental commitments with Oman’s Vision 2040 sustainability objectives and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals framework.
Creating Value. Serving Communities.
The assets we invest in are not abstract financial instruments — they are the systems that move goods to market, keep the lights on, and connect communities. We recognise the social significance of that role, and we hold ourselves to a standard that reflects it.
Across our portfolio, we track social outcomes including: job creation and local employment within portfolio companies; supply chain localisation and support for Omani and Saudi businesses; community impact and access to essential services; and health, safety, and labour standards.
We engage regularly with local stakeholders and provide a clear mechanism — our Grievance Redress process — for anyone affected by our investments to raise concerns directly with us.
Institutional Standards. Independent Oversight.
Strong governance is not incidental to how we manage capital — it is foundational. Rakiza operates to institutional governance standards across all of its funds and portfolio companies.
Our governance framework includes: independent oversight structures within each fund; clear conflict-of-interest policies and procedures; transparent reporting to investors on a regular and structured basis; board-level ESG accountability within portfolio companies; and full compliance with the Capital Market Authority of the Sultanate of Oman’s regulatory requirements.
We hold ourselves to the same standard we apply to the assets we acquire. Integrity, transparency, and accountability are not aspirations — they are operational requirements.
